I'm reading this recipe and it says "1/4 cup of butter=1 stick. I believe it's supposed to be 1/2 cup of butter = 1 stick!

Thanks for the mention. It was so much fun. I only wish I tasted more. But I was overjoyed to win in the professional category.

Allison: Thanks!! Yours were delish, too (and very beautiful).
Brooke: I'm afraid the only original recipe was in my head! I was thinking of using the syrup from a can of lychees instead of coconut milk in the batter, then a splash in the frosting... hm.

I made the "Coral Reef" cupcakes you photographed (Love the picture, by the way!) - They were vanilla-citrus cakes with a Mascarpone-citrus frosting.

The turnout was amazing and it raised money for a great cause!

Anyone who participated and wants to keep baking for a worthy cause should check out Craig's Kitchen (http://craigskitchen.wordpress.com/) - they get volunteers to make dessert for those having dinner at the Greenpoint Soup Kitchen.

As a biased judge, I'd say those Key lime cupcakes (aka Margarita cupcakes) should've won! If only I'd been there to cheer on my brave, baking twin sister Alice, the visionary who brought these green delicacies to life.

Bravo to all who participated, it looked like a great haul!
