If you are looking for the best vegetarian dumplings ever, boy, do I have a recipe for you! Well, not quite a recipe, but I'm sure you could put something together.

Mix purple cabbage, bean sprouts, and crispy fried rice bits (you can probably get "guoba" at the Chinese supermarket) in a bowl with sesame oil, Chinese flavor oil (xiang you), and powdered chicken stock or some sort of replacement flavor.

Stuff the mix inside your dumpling skins, boil, and you have da bomb veggie-friendly dumplings!

The place I eat them at dyes the dumpling skins purple with some vegetable based dye for added visual impact. Do it!

its the best way to make onigiri if you dont own a mold and you're not willing to burn your fingers shaping hot rice by hand! i read about it on bento sites- gosh Tokyo housewives do suffer for their art..:)

These are so delicious. Out of the 21 courses, these dumpling sides were definitely one of the best. So glad you guided me through making a few.

Thanks again for everything. Awesome meal, awesome night. So satisfied right now.
