Hey can we trade background choruses? Mine scream "THROW THAT BALL HARDER! We're going to WIN at Skeeball!!! Even if you ARE playing against yourself!!!" and other assorted mocking taunts when I lose at bowling or the other two "sports" I participate in. Yeah, I'm competitive. Also "Go ahead, eat that ice cream, you fat ass, as if you weren't fat enough, ugh. Turn around..." alogn iwth the demons chanting "Eat the ice cream, because you only had salad for lunch..." Gosh, I'm schizophrenic, aren't I?

But I totally agree. Nothing tastes better than something you've worked hard on (and came out the way you wanted, of course). Sometimes I'm so amazed at how good somethign tastes I'll keep saying it, then I sound like I'm tooting my own horn, oops.

The best reason yet. I agree wholeheartedly. I am glad that work-intensive cooking is coming back at least a little. As someone who doesn't make very much money, the only way I get to eat "fancier" or interesting things is to make them. And food is so much more satisfying if you are exhausted from having made it.
But simple things can be good as well. Try my goat yogurt semifreddo. It won't weigh down your electric bill like that ice cream maker. And you can spend the 7 hours it takes to set in the freezer making something complicated.
