I want my dishes in a certain spot. I want to be in control. While the SO does do his share in the kitchen, I tend to want to put him in a more submissive role (doing dishes) I am alpha when it comes to what is ingested, but outside of the kitchen, it's more equal. I love cooking for people, but it makes me a little nervous to be cooked for. As for cooking together, it just doesn't happen. I find myself delegating smaller and smaller tasks until my partner's job becomes enjoying the fruits of my labor. I totally agree with the points you make. To me, cooking for others (be they family members, friends or romantic interests) is another way to share a part of myself.
